Elios wetsuits were founded by the Morosini family, who have been making speciality wetsuits since 1977 – in the Italian tradition of perfection in craftsmanship. Their wetsuits are widely used and trusted by performance freediving and spearfishing athletes and enthusiasts. Many of us have also come to personally know the Morosini family and their passion for wetsuits and the water.
Since July 2017, Elios wetsuits are represented by Charmaine Tham and Alexey Vlaskin in Australia. We are avid freedivers and spearos, and have been wearing Elios wetsuits since 2013. In fact, we love Elios wetsuits so much that we’ve partnered with the Morosini family to bring their wetsuits to Australia, so that more Australians can experience the benefits of having a wetsuit that is absolutely perfect for them.
Eliossub was started in 1977 in response to the persistent requests of Morosini’s friends and competition divers for a wetsuit like the ones he made for himself. Originally a tailor by trade and too poor to buy a wetsuit off-the-shelf at the time, Morosini scavenged leftover neoprene material from manufacturers and made his own wetsuits. He continued to refine his tailoring approach, which remains a key mission for the tailoring team to this day.
